LOCATION: The location of your training course is the Ohio CPR Certs Training Center located at 110 Polaris Parkway, Suite 303, Westerville, OH 43082. The facility is an office building located in front of the Meijer store on Polaris Parkway. Park on either side of the building and enter the main lobby, take the elevator to the third floor, and turn right toward Suite 303.

BLENDED LEARNING: This babysitting course is a ‘blended learning’ course. This means students will complete some online, self paced pre-work before the in the person course. Within 24 hours of registering, you will receive a link to access the online pre-work - the online pre-work largely covers the First Aid/CPR portion of the class. The online portion of this blended learning class MUST BE COMPLETED before arriving to the in person class. You are required to show proof of completion to your instructor of the online content upon arrival to class. Print the certificate, take a photo, or take a screenshot!

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT: Remember, we want your children to have the room to learn these lifesaving skills on their own! Space inside the classroom is very limited. There is a comfortable seating just outside the classroom, in the lobby of the floor. Parents/guardians are welcome to stay on the floor in this common area, but would not have seats inside the classroom itself.

AGE REQUIREMENT: This babysitting class is geared toward those ages 11-16. Students must be 11 years old by the start date of the class and no older than 17 years old.

CLASS LENGTH: The online pre-work for students will take approximately 1-2 hours - it is self-paced and may be quicker or longer depending on the student’s skill level. The in person portion of the babysitting class runs from 9:00am-3:00pm.

LUNCH: All students should come prepared with a packed lunch - we will take a break in the middle of the day for lunch where students can eat in the classroom. We will have allergy friendly snacks available for students during the morning and afternoon too.

BABYSITTING KIT: All students will receive a Red Cross Drawstring Bag, Babysitting Handbook, a mini breathing barrier, and a 100 piece First Aid Kit - great to take with them on babysitting gigs. This is included in the cost of registration!

INSTRUCTORS: Our team of highly qualified and experienced instructors, led by a pediatric nurse, will take your children through our Babysitting with First Aid/CPR/AED course!

RED CROSS CERTIFICATIONS: In order for students to receive a 10 year Red Cross Babysitter certification and a 2 year Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED certification, they must:

  • Complete the online, self-paced pre-work before class.

  • Attend the full in-person class session.

  • Actively participate in all activities.

  • Demonstrate competency in all practice skills.

  • Pass all First Aid/CPR/AED hands-on scenarios.

  • There is no written exam for the Babysitting or First Aid/CPR/AED courses!
